ABOUT THIS RELEASE
Total Steel is the second full-length album from Japanese heavy metal outfit Sacrifice, delivering a dark, aggressive and unusually heavy combination of traditional heavy metal, NWOBHM, thrash and crossover influences. Drawing inspiration from Motörhead, Venom, Tank, Saxon and early Celtic Frost, the band creates a distinctive sound built around thick, repetitive guitar riffs, pounding rhythms, gritty vocals and an ominous atmosphere. Tracks like "Total Steel," "Clumsy Life," "Dancing Death Valley" and "Cold Storm" showcase the band's ability to combine infectious heavy metal grooves with bursts of speed and raw aggression. Rather than following conventional thrash metal structures, Sacrifice favour longer compositions, straightforward songwriting and hypnotic, riff-driven arrangements that give the album a particularly dark and menacing character. An underrated Japanese underground metal classic, Total Steel is a powerful and distinctive release that bridges traditional heavy metal, metalpunk and extreme thrash.
