Manual Manic Procedures sees 200 Stab Wounds refining their old-school death metal assault with tighter songwriting, sharper production and more intricate arrangements, without sacrificing the filthy brutality that made their debut so effective. Combining crushing mid-tempo grooves, ferocious blast beats, razor-sharp guitar riffs and guttural vocals, the Cleveland quartet incorporates stronger thrash, grindcore and hardcore influences into their sound. The songs feature frequent tempo changes, unexpected rhythmic shifts, infectious breakdowns and impressive guitar solos, giving the material greater variety and momentum. Tracks like "Hands of Eternity," "Release the Stench" and "Ride the Flatline" showcase the band's improved musicianship and ability to balance relentless aggression with memorable songwriting. The result is a vicious, tightly executed and highly entertaining death metal record that builds upon its predecessor while demonstrating a more mature and distinctive approach.
